    Hello.
I am sorry. The product code can only be used once and be connected to one origin account. You will need to buy GTW again if you would like to have GTW connected to your account. The other GTW will remain connected to your brother's fiancées account.
You could try being in touch with EA Help and explaining the situation. They may be able to help.

  • This is a Kodak oh poo moment. Your basically at the mercy of EA customer service on this one.
@luthienrising OMG! OMG! (double omg) Wyler's Mrs. Grass Soup Mix no longer has the Golden Flavor Nugget OMG!!! This has to be a Communist plot. What will happen to the free world?
I do not work for EA nor do I have any association with EA. I am a gamer helping other gamers.
  • I think EA Help would be able to help you with that.

  • @DeKay - Basically you have a he said she said problem here. I don't believe EA can remove the GTW pack because the x can always say she paid for it and why did the pack get removed. The only way I see to correct this w/o creating a war is to just give @TobiSterling a new product number and that is up to the discretion of the EA customer service rep. There is no simple solution to this problem.

There is a simple solution. The EA representative will tell the person that they must purchase a new product key since there is no possibility of validating the person'cs claim to anything which was activated with the other account. 'Sorry, you're out of luck.'
Everyone has a long story and to permit re-use of activation codes for any reason other than 'I've purchased it and have lost access to my account which no one other than myself has ever made contact with' would enable piracy.

  • That's kinda what I meant when I said this is a Kodak oh poo moment. They might feel sorry and just give the op a new code. EA really needs to jump start this game. A pack like World Adventures maybe. Maybe more real life activities. Like the bank lost your mortgage payment or the IRS is after you.

Hmm, yeah, you're right about that. I know EA can help if you have two accounts and you merge them into one but since these are from two different people, it might be a bit more complicated. Well, I hope the EA help people will be nice and give OP a new code.

It is simply not true that they won't help you unless you lost access to your account. They will help you for other (valid) reasons too as long as you have something to say 'I purchased it'. Perhaps having the activation code as part-of (not just that though, prepare other solutions too) your evidence would work. It depends which rep you get.

No, if the person states that they co-purchased the code under the other person's account then the EA representative cannot legally offer any kind of compensation or adjustment of the account. Issuance of a new code would be piracy and modification of the original account without a written agreement or court order would be theft. This person will not receive a new code and any rep who attempts to offer one will be immediately terminated.

  • EA customer service gives out codes all the time for missing and non working codes. This case COULD be assumed the pack was purchased for that account as a gift. INMHO The pack should be left as is and a new pack be issued to the op. I think EA occasionally gifts things to customers due to mistakes.

What I meant was that there is a chance they will help. They tend to add it to your account though rather than give a code. EA might not help them now I think about it. It has it written on the packet (and has since the sims 3) that you need a base game to use it. I don't have a physical copy (I have digital) but know because I have seen them in the shop and have a few physical ones for the sims 3.

i actually bought the pack by myself for myself, i just used her account to activate it :p

I understand what you are saying but it is common for some one to buy EA products with some one else paying for it. If you paid for the pack with a credit/debit card you came claim fraud. If you paid for the pack with the knowledge that you would share the EA account then a fraud was not really committed. IMO I would not recommend sharing an account as only one user can log in at a time and situations like this are all too common. As I see it there was a verbal contract and the x is not living up to her end of the contract. This becomes a civil matter and you could sue her in small claims court as you probably have proof of payment. As for EA customer service they will have to make some kind of decision on how to settle this. I repeat - this is a case of he said she said. The x can claim you bought for her the pack as a gift. This does not break the EA EULA of one code one account. The EULA does provide for a one time transfer of ownership. If the x was nice she could try to give you ownership of the pack. I do not think EA can 'transfer' ownership. What they can do is disable the code for the x and give you a new product code. At this point you are at the mercy of EA customer service.
btw: Amazon has GTW for $17.99 Prime.

I understand that however you have to consider that others who are dishonest will make similar requests and it is the account owner who must decide whether or not anything should be modified. As stated by others, EA might choose to offer a new code as a gift so you should try anyway however you'll have to give them a very good reason.

This is were copy right plum goes all wrong, You also need a legal copy of the Sims 4 game if you didn't by that it will ask for a product code for both, and GTW won't install without a legal copy of the Sims 4.
Edit: EA created Origin not for us, but to cut down on cost of pirated software, and many people were also supprised when they got a box with just a product code for Christmas, because they wanted to play the game at Christmas time and had to have internet to install it, this was likely to stop DVD sharing, which I think the simplest thing you can do is just buy GTW again for your account. Also the game wouldn't have worked anyways even with disc because of internet required for activation, so the blank code boxes didn't matter.

Take it as a lesson learnt. You obviously will be cut out from using her account as the engagement is broken off.
  • There is no reason to copyguard the disc as you can't play without activating the game through Origin much like Steam. Rise of the Tombraider was Steam only and Fallout 4 HAD to be registered on Steam. With all this anti piracy methods why isn't the cost of games going down. I am now more particular about which games I buy.

Because the hackers have found a way to steal the alpha code right before release, at least that is how they ended up with the Sims 3 and 4, the activation requirement was not in the code yet.
Edit: also another thing they couldn't update or use the gallery or forum either because a activation code and account was required to access the gallery, so they where limited on what they could do. Well, with Sims 3 you needed a product code to use the forum, The Sims 4 you didn't, but since updates went through origin and needed a product code, EA just called it the Demo version.

This is one of the reasons I wish that we could gift, as I would be the first one to do that here. I have a friend whose son just broke off with his longtime girlfriend and they purchased many things together, and well, not exactly the same, but they purchased a car together and she has it, and he has to make payments on the car as it is in his name, and she refused to return it. So, basically he is not paying for it, and it will be repossessed, but that is kind of what happened here, take the game as repossessed!
I wonder though, if I had opened an account, and wanted to change my account for some reason, like a hacker, I wonder if I could get all the games I put on my account. Yeah, I guess I could as this does not apply here as I would be doing what she did, and changing my account.,
I just looked on e-bay there is one that is new for $20.00 that might help!
